Great Shelford
Children at Great and Little Shelford Primary School have recently been busy working with print artist Mandy Knapp (www.mandyknapp.co.uk) to create collograph prints based on local buildings and landmarks. This printwork is to be transferred on to part of the hoarding which will surround the Woollards Lane development site. Hill Residential, the developer, already has experience of working with young people in this way. The artwork on the hoarding pictured below was created as part of a public art project on a site in Old Bethnal Green, London, and the piece entitled ‘Secret Garden’ was made using print techniques also. This piece relates to the drawing created by the intoart artist.
This print project marks the start of a public art project in Great Shelford. If you have ideas for this project or would like to be involved in any way, contact lesley@start-arts.org.uk . You can also find further information on: http://www.shelford.org/.
See the ‘Secret Garden’, which was a print-based project, below.
Printing is hard work! Below lots of activity at the primary school.
