EASTER 2012

2nd April: Arty-tecture! Families are welcome to join designer Elaine Tribley and architect Sarah Morrison to get creative with buildings and the landscape. From 10am – 12.30pm, Elaine will help families create images using vinyl from the patterns we see in our surroundings.  From 1pm – 3.30pm, Sarah will be helping families discover how to make buildings go green. These workshops are free and supported by the Big Lottery Fund as part of the Green Screens project, exploring sustainable design in the built environment. No need to book, just drop in. 2 – 5 April Musical theatre is back!   Come sing, dance and act with the Elle Lyons and the team.  Fun drama games, learn skills and make friends whilst working towards an end of workshop performance for family and friends.  Based on the story of Mary Poppins. ImpingtonVillageCollege.  £100.  Age 8+.   Please see booking form or contact amy@start-arts.org.uk

12, 19 and 26 May:  Are you trying to be funny?  Fancy yourself as the next Michael McIntyre?  Want to learn how to write your own comedy material and speak in front of crowd? 24 – 27 July: Swavesey Summer Rock School. Join Fil and Nick for four days of rocking out. Meet professional rock musicians, get advice on getting gigs and forming a band, meet other young musicians, create your band and perform alongside seasoned bands at the Big Swavesey Gig! Tuesday 24 July:  Adventure Quest.  Peter and Simon invite you to embark on a thrilling new workshop full of twists and turns to test even the bravest of young adventurers.  It will take team-work, quick-thinking and creativity to overcome the obstacles and reach the precious treasures. Think you have what it takes?  Then join us for a fun-filled workshop of challenges, puzzles and adventure madness. Wednesday 25 July: Superhero Smack-down.  Spiderman and Superman have been around for ages so it’s time for some new Superheroes.  In this animation workshop you will create your own comic book episode and then work with professional filmmakers Pete and Simon to animate your Superhero in the Smack-Down Arena.  Including a DVD of the final work.  Cottenham Village College, 10 – 4pm. £40.  Age 8 – 16.  Please see booking form or contact amy@start-arts.org.uk

Thursday 26 July: Mask making.  Create your own comic mask, and use it to develop a unique character for performance.
